Verbs can have different conjugation variants depending on the use of the verb or the applied rule. Just click on the variant button.
Verb Conjugation Rules
A key feature of this website is that you can view the grammar rules for each tense and get explanations on every personal form.
Next to the tense title a "warning sign" indicates that certain rules are used, which appear in red on the person form.
Simply hover your mouse over them to see a brief explanation.
Verbs Spelling
Some verbs are allowed to be written differently.
But to not overcomplicate the acceptance of the conjugations forms during the exercises, we only use the most common orthographic way :
- déjeûner => déjeuner
- entrainer => entraîner
- designer => désigner
- bruler => brûler
- gouter => goûter
- maitriser => maîtriser
- bucher => bûcher
- abimer => abîmer
- couter => coûter
- pater => pâter
Verbs Conjugation
All verb forms are created using standard, official conjugation rules. We tested this system with nearly every verb in our database and compared the results with other websites.
While this might seem straightforward, we found surprising differences between sources. Even official references sometimes show different conjugations for the same verb.
We carefully chose the most accurate versions, and in some cases, we included multiple accepted forms.
